Well done, good and faithful servant (Matt 25:23a)
Dear All,
Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good. Titus 3:1 (NIV)
With the passing of Queen Elizabeth II this is a very appropriate verse for a woman who though a ruler understood duty, obedience and the fact that she had to be obedient to God – Her King and Majesty. She constantly stated that her faith guided her through good times and bad.
In the book – The faith of Queen Elizabeth by Dudley Delffs. He makes a number of statements about her – Duty and Desire, Commitment and Conviction, Service and Sacrifice, Conviction and Compromise, Grace and Grit, Example and Exemplar, Comfort and Compassion, Wit and Wisdom, Mystery and Majesty.
As Dudley Delffs stated – ‘the relationship between one’s beliefs and one’s duty to carry them out remains at the heart of being a follower of Jesus.’ (James 1:22-25). The Queen was a true follower of Christ and not ashamed to regularly state how her faith guided her.
Your Majesty Queen Elizabeth II may you Rest In Peace your duty done and rise in glory at the coming of the King of Kings.
Godspeed
